Teaching is a labor force that falls under civil service. In Kenya today, teachers are rated from job group āGā to the job group in the civil service. As a P1 teacher in the job group G category, the minimum monthly salary is Kshs 25,692, and the maximum pay is Kshs 30,304. For chief principal teacher, which is the highest rank in Kenya, he or she can earn a minimum salary of Ksh165,089 and a maximum salary of Ksh 200,928.
The teacher service commission of Kenya(TSC) gives opportunities for teachers to be raised from one job group to another higher group. For a teacher to move from one job group to another level, he or she is subjected to an interview.
